Product Management Wargaming –
Win at Your Product Game!

Part 1 – What is Product Wargaming?
Part 2 – Interactive Product Miniwargame

Featuring: Jay Kurtz, President, KappaWest

In this interactive two-part session, the speaker will teach you what Product Wargaming is and how to use it effectively to improve your product development efforts and the success of your products.

Part 1 will include:

  • Product Wargame purposes and deliverables at different phases
  • Using selected Product Wargaming tools such as the Market and Competitive Map and the Silver Bullet Analysis
  • Lessons from Real-Life Product Wargames
  • How to put it all together to be effective in your Product Wargame project

In Part 2, the speaker will lead the audience through an actual Product Miniwargame. Participants will form teams, each representing a company with a high tech product. During the Miniwargame, the competitive teams will:

  • Assess their overall business and product situation
  • Anticipate the strategies of their competitors
  • Select and invest limited resources in their own strategies

At the end of the game, the Market team will evaluate the plans of all competing teams and select the winner.

 

About the Speaker and KappaWest

Jay Kurtz is President of KappaWest. Founded in 1974, the firm has worked with many big name clients including American Express, Eli Lilly, Hewlett Packard, and Kodak, helping them gain significant and sustainable improvements in their strategic effectiveness and operational efficiency. The company serves clients around the world including the United States , Canada , Europe , Australia , South America , and Africa .

Jay Kurtz is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada and Queens University, and served as an officer in the Canadian Army. He has held sales and marketing positions with IBM Canada and was a co-founder and the original Vice President Marketing of a successful computer services company. He founded and has operated KappaWest and its predecessor companies for more than 28 years.
