Resources: Archives — Past Meetings — 2003Wednesday, April 16, 2003, 11:30 AM Accelerating Time-to-RevenueWhat is the single most overlooked part of the product development process? Hint: It's the key to reducing time-to-revenue and meeting today's brutal financial goals. Accelerating the flow of knowledge throughout the new product development and release community is the answer. This presentation will outline simple-to-apply best practices for rapid knowledge deployment used to introduce hundreds of new products by one of the valley's most successful high technology companies. Venue:
Santa Clara Convention Center Presenter: Ted Cocheu, CEO, Altus Learning Systems Presentation Details: Companies must develop the ability to rapidly and effectively deploy knowledge throughout their extended organizations to establish competitive advantage in developing and introducing new products. The process starts with transferring customer requirements from product marketing to engineering and flows through the entire new product chain—from engineering to manufacturing and then from the product team to sales, technical support, channel partners, and ultimately to end users. The best practices outlined in this presentation are derived from five years of pioneering experience supporting the successful introduction of hundreds of new products with innovative knowledge transfer techniques. The work began in 1997 with the realization that achieving sustainable competitive advantage in developing and introducing new products required superior capabilities to transfer knowledge to and from all key stakeholders in the process. The challenge is always how to extract that knowledge at every step from busy subject matter experts and transfer it to everyone throughout the process who needs it. And that challenge grows ever more daunting as globalization and virtual organizations proliferate. This presentation will detail best practices for integrating in-person and web-based communication approaches that can enable everyone in the extended organization to access the information they need to rapidly and effectively market, sell, support, and use new products. About the speaker: Ted Cocheu is the founder of Altus Learning Systems and was a co-founder of gForce Systems.
