Resources: Archives — Past Meetings — 2003March 19, 2003 Are Your Projects Suffering from Resource Management Issues?Venue: Cadence Design Systems Companies are struggling to execute to projects with the resources they have. In these times, no one can afford to solve resource problems simply by having "enough" people available regardless of how effectively they are being utilized. Even during good times, a pipeline of projects matched against an unmanaged resourcing approach can lead to frustration and projects that miss expectations. Poor resource management will unwind even the best strategy or portfolio of development projects. In our workshop, we will have an interactive group exercise to experience the portfolio impact of managed and unmanaged resources. We will discuss the takeaways from the exercise and exchange our experience with each other. Finally, we will provide a self-assessment tool that will help you begin to diagnose resource management issues at your company. About the Speaker Aritomo Shinozaki is a Principal consultant from the Mountain View office of Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath (PRTM).
